Police say arrest gang of motorbike thieves

LAHORE: Anti Motorcycle Lifting Staff busted a gang on Monday involved in stealing and robbing motorcycles, and seized looted goods from them worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and weapons. The accused confessed to 13 incidents during preliminary interrogation. A special team headed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Sarfraz Ahmed Falki was constituted and comprised Deputy SP (DSP) of Anti Motorcycle Lifting Staff among others. The team arrested the gang named Zahidu, which had five members, on a tip-off. The areas where the gang used to operate in were Shadbagh, Naulakha, Mustafabad, Muslim Town, Misri Shah and Kotlakhpat. The police seized five motorcycles, seven cell phones, Rs 42,500, four pistols and bullets from their possession. The arrested were identified as ringleader Zahid Khan, Omer Ch, Zulfiqar Ali, Muhammad Asif and Asif Mehmood. staff report
